Australian practitioners can use Halaxy's integration with Tyro Health (formerly Medipass) to process Comcare insurance claims from an invoice. Any invoice with containing a fee under the Comcare funder can be processed directly with just one click of a button.
To be able to process Comcare, you must first:
-
Sign up for a Tyro Health account and register for Comcare claiming.
-
Connect your Tyro Health account to Halaxy.
Processing an insurance claim with Tyro Health in Halaxy costs 1 credit per successful transaction.
To successfully process a Comcare claim in Halaxy, ensure you have the following details in place:
-
Funder / Fees: Only fees under the funder Comcare can be processed for Comcare claims. You can quickly set up fees under this funder by importing the preset Comcare fees, which already include item numbers. This also automatically sets up Comcare as the paying organisation. (Alternatively, you can just import the funder and create your own fees under it.)
-
Item number: The fee has the correct item number in Halaxy so Comcare can identify the service being claimed. Please refer to the Comcare website for the correct item numbers.
-
Rebate amount: The fee has a rebate amount greater than $0.00, which is the rebate amount is the amount paid by the insurer. By default, fees imported from Halaxy's database are set to the maximum allowable. If the rebate amount is higher than Comcare's maximum, the claim will be rejected. You can refer to Comcare's rates for health treatments for the scheduled fee amount.
-
Comcare provider number: You have entered this number under the funder Comcare in your identifications page. This number must be registered with Tyro Health. (Tip: You can also add this number on the invoice.)
-
Medicare provider number: You have entered your Medicare provider number under the Medicare funder in your identifications. This provider number must also be registered with Tyro Health.
-
Patient claim details: Set up your patient's claim for Comcare on their patient funding page. You must include the patient's claim number, set the paying organisation to Comcare, and set the Payer to bill the organisation rather than the patient.
-
Patient details: The patient must have a valid date of birth and mobile phone number on their patient profile.
If you have a patient covered by Comcare, you must use a Comcare fee for their appointment. This is added to the invoice, which you will use to submit your claim.
When the invoice has been submitted successfully, the invoice payment status shows as Completed.
When payment is approved, the Halaxy invoice is updated with the rebate marked as paid.
You can view the claim history and a Tyro Health statement by clicking the claim status link on the invoice. After the funds are transferred, you can log into your Tyro Health portal to access remittance advice and to refund the payment if required.
