Dynamic terms are a time-saving feature in Halaxy that allows you to automatically personalised information to any template, document, or communication (email, SMS or fax).
Examples of dynamic terms include: patient's name, practitioner, practice location, appointment date and time, invoice number, and many more.
Dynamic terms can be inserted in clinical notes, appointment reminders, and email and SMS communication templates, fax cover sheets, and letterhead templates.

Tip
See our related article with the full list of dynamic terms!
Note
If the patient has a preferred name listed on their patient profile, the dynamic terms [Patient First Name] and [Patient Full Name] use the preferred name instead of the first name. To use the first name, you can use the dynamic terms [Patient Legal First Name] or [Patient Full Legal Name].

To use dynamic terms in a clinical note, email communication template, email reminder or fax cover sheet:
-
Place your cursor where you would like to use the dynamic term in your template.
-
Click Dynamic Terms in the control panel above the box containing the contents of your clinical note.
-
Search for the dynamic term you want using the search bar or scroll bar, then click the term you want to insert it.
The dynamic term appears where you placed the cursor. When you preview or publish the note or send the email/fax, the term converts to the actual relevant data.
Note
Dynamic terms related to referrals or appointments are not compatible with communication templates, as they cannot be sure of which referral or appointment to link to.
