As a veterinarian, you may be treating different kinds of animals in your practice. For patient profiles, you can select the available preset animal types and subtypes or you can also add your own.
You can add your own animal types and deactivate any types you are not using. Active animal types are available for selection when you add new animal patients.
-
Click Settings > General.
-
Under the Patient Profiles section, next to Patient Types, click View All. (Depending on your terminology settings, this may be called Animal Types or Pet Types.)
-
In the pop-up, tick the Active checkbox for the terms you want to include as available options.
-
(Optional) On the right column, add your own animal types and tick their checkbox to mark them Active.
-
Click Save.
Your active animal types are applied and are available for selection in your patient profiles.
Specify each animal further - such as adding breed names - by adding subtypes. You create custom and deactivate animal subtypes anytime.
-
Click Settings > General.
-
Under the Patient Profiles section, next to Patient Subtypes, click View All. (Depending on your terminology settings, this may be called Animal Types or Pet Types.)
-
In the top right, click Add Subtype.
-
In the pop-up:
-
First, select the Patient Type. (e.g. Dog)
-
For Patient Subtype, enter the name of the subtype you want to add. (e.g. Labrador)
-
-
Click Save.
This subtype is now available available for selection in your patient profiles.
