By default, emails in Halaxy (such as invoice or reminder emails) are sent from noreply@halaxy.com on your behalf. If you have an email address for your practice with a custom domain name (e.g. alex.garcia@garciahealth.com), you can verify it on Halaxy so that your emails are sent directly from you instead. This improves the appearance of your emails and verifies you as a legitimate sender, increasing the chance for your emails to reach your intended recipients.
To verify your domain, you need to make some quick changes in your domain provider account (e.g. GoDaddy), mainly to create required DNS records for the domain you want to verify. These records authenticate your domain name (and any email addresses using it) to send emails through our system.
If you need assistance, please contact your website administrator or domain provider customer support.
Note
To send Halaxy emails from your own email address, you must use an email address with a custom domain name. You cannot do this for public domain names such as gmail.com or yahoo.com.
Important
If you already had a verified domain before 14 February 2024, your verification status may display as Verified (Legacy). You must re-verify your email domain due to changed requirements from Google and Yahoo. To do this, you only need to follow Steps 1 to 6 in this guide.
Note: You only need to do this process once for each custom domain name used in your practice.
-
Click Settings > General.
-
Under the Email Settings section, click the cogwheel icon.
-
This page lists all the domain names used for contact email addresses in your practice group. Under the domain name you want to verify, under Verify your domain, you'll find the list of DNS records you need to create in your domain provider account.
-
In another browser window, log into your domain provider account (e.g. GoDaddy) and find where to edit DNS records. (Note: Depending on your domain provider, this may be located under cPanel, Zone Editor, Zone File Settings, Manage Domains, DNS Manager)
-
In your domain's DNS records, add the CNAME and TXT records using the information listed in Halaxy in Step 3, then save all the records.
-
In Halaxy, click Verify. If verification is successful, the first step is labeled Verified. If the status does not change immediately, wait a few minutes then click Verify again. (Tip: Review the DNS records you added for any typos.)
Note: Some domain providers may require a semicolon at the end of the TXT record - v=DMARC1; p=none;
-
The next step is to confirm that you own an email address that uses the domain name. Under Confirm domain ownership, next to your email address, click the Send Confirmation Email to send a verification email. This email contains a link that you must copy then paste into Halaxy - do NOT click the link.
-
Open the email and copy the verification link within the email. Paste the link into Halaxy, then click Confirm. (Note: If the email contains a button instead of a link, right click the button and select Copy link address.)
-
When verification is complete, you receive an email notification within 24 to 48 hours that your domain name is verified.
You can now set your custom email address as the sender for your Halaxy emails. This applies to all contact email addresses in your group using the same domain name.
