Guide to security preferences

Who can do this?

  • Practitioners: Full Access

  • Administrators: Full Access

In addition to our world-class security features, Halaxy also provides you with automated security preferences for your group:

  • Password Refresh requires all users in your practice group to change their password after a regular interval of time. You can specify the schedule of these intervals.

  • Idle Activity automatically logs out users after a period of inactivity. You can set the length of this inactive period that logs users out.

  • New Login Alerts automatically sends an email notification to users when their account is signed in from a new location or device.

These features are optional, but we recommend using them to strengthen your account security.


It’s always better to maximise your security. Don’t forget to enable two-factor authentication for your group!

Set up password refresh, idle activity or new login alerts

  1. Click Settings > Users.

  2. Next to your practice group name, click the Icon-Lock.svg lock icon to open your security preferences.

  3. Configure the following settings:

    • Password Refresh: Select the regular interval schedule to require your group users to change their Halaxy password.

    • Idle Activity: Select the length of inactive period elapsed to automatically log out your group users.

    • New Login Alerts: Select Enabled.

  4. Click Save.

The settings you enabled are applied to all users in your practice group.
