Create a personal appointment

Personal appointments let you block out time in your Halaxy calendar for your own errands and activities, such as a hairdresser or dentist appointment. Personal appointments do not have a patient or fee assigned to them.

Personal appointments are also a handy way to block out leave, holidays or any time when you are temporarily away from your practice.

Add a personal appointment

  1. On the calendar, click a timeslot on the date you want.

  2. In the right panel, click the Personal tab.

  3. Enter the following details:

    • Title: A label or the purpose of your personal appointment. (Examples: Lunch, Annual leave, Christmas, etc.)

    • Duration: The number of minutes to block out your personal appointment.

    • Appointment / Text Colour (optional): Set the colour to look different to your patient appointment, so you can quickly distinguish between them when viewing your calendar.

    • Location (optional): Where your personal appointment will take place.

    • Comments (optional): Any notes you want to leave for yourself. (Example: Remember to bring an umbrella.)

  4. Click Save.

Your personal appointment now appears in your calendar. If you make another appointment with the same title, Halaxy automatically pre-populates the appointment colour and duration for you.

To edit the appointment, click the Icon-Edit.svg Edit icon. To delete the appointment, click the Icon-X.svg Delete icon.

To make this a recurring personal appointment, click Repeat Appointment and enter the details the same way as a recurring patient appointment.

Add a group personal appointment

Group personal appointments can be useful for scheduling staff meetings or simultaneously blocking out fellow practitioners' calendars for public holidays.

You can create group personal appointments simply by adding multiple practitioners to a personal appointment. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Create the personal appointment.

  2. After saving, click Add Additional Practitioners.

  3. Select the practitioners you want to add to this personal appointment.

  4. Click Save.
