Manage a prescription repeat request

Who can do this?

Practitioners only (eligible professions)

Patients can now request prescription repeats through their Halaxy patient portal, without needing to visit or call practitioners to top up their regular medication. As practitioner, you can approve, decline, or ask for more information for the request, optimising your time.

View and manage repeat requests

  1. When a patient requests a repeat, you receive a notification in Halaxy. From the notification, click View to go straight to the prescription.

  2. Click the Repeat requested link to view the request.

  3. In the pop-up, the request appears with details and your message exchange with your patient. To request more information from your patient, enter your message in the message box, then click Send.

  4. When you are ready to decide:

    • To approve the repeat request, select Approve, then click Approve Request.

    • To decline the repeat request, select Decline, then click Decline Request.

When you approve a repeat request, the prescription is automatically duplicated as a new prescription.
