A manual sync allows you to sync and unsync individual invoices and expenses in Halaxy from an existing invoice or expense in Xero, Reckon One or QuickBooks.
When you set up Halaxy to sync to your accounting software, the sync is one way. Changes flow from Halaxy to your accounting software, but not vice versa. If you make changes in your accounting software, they don't reflect in Halaxy.
Manual syncing allows you to reflect changes back from your software to Halaxy by applying a syncing key from your accounting software to the relevant invoice or expense in Halaxy.
To establish a link between an existing invoice or expense in your accounting package to an an invoice or expense in Halaxy:
-
In your accounting software, open the invoice or expense and copy the transaction ID in the URL of your browser's address bar. (See below for examples.)
-
Xero
-
Reckon One
-
Quickbooks
-
-
In Halaxy, open the invoice or expense. In the top right, click Xero / QuickBooks or Reckon to view the sync history.
-
If there is a syncing history, next to the invoice or payer, click the
pencil icon. If there is no syncing history, click Add Sync.
-
For Sync ID, paste the transaction ID you copied from Xero, Reckon One or QuickBooks and click Save.
The invoice or expense is now linked between Halaxy and your accounting software.
If you want to resync the invoice or expense from Halaxy to your accounting software, click the sync button in the sync history.
Note
If you manually sync an invoice with a payment, the payment will not be synced to your accounting software to avoid potential double counting. Automatically synced invoices will still sync payments to your accounting package if you have enabled payments syncing.
