Coviu for online consultations

Who can do this?

If you have a Coviu account, Halaxy integrates directly with Coviu, embedding Coviu’s telehealth platform directly in the Halaxy interface. This way, you don’t need to leave Halaxy, download software or even open another window to use Coviu.

You can also use Halaxy Telehealth, our native video and phone consultation platform.

Online appointments create the same functions in your calendar the same way as in-person appointments, including invoice creation, scheduled reminders and payments processing.

Connect your Coviu account to Halaxy

Before using Coviu for your consultations, you must first connect your Coviu account to Halaxy. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Coviu website and sign up for a Standard Plan (or higher) using the same email address that you use in Halaxy.

  2. In Halaxy, click Settings > Integrations.

  3. Under the Online Consultation section, next to Coviu, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

  4. Next to your name, click the Icon-Link.svg link icon to connect your Coviu to Halaxy.

  5. You are taken to the Coviu sign-in page. Log in to Coviu to authorise the connection.

  6. Your Coviu and Halaxy are now connected.

Note

You can connect practitioners from your practice group to your Coviu account by following the same steps listed above.

Create a Coviu video appointment

After you have connected your Coviu, you can begin creating appointments with Coviu integrated. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. From the calendar, create an appointment.

  2. Enter your required details. For Location, select Online Consultation.

  3. Click Save. The saved appointment automatically generates a Coviu link for you, appearing as a link labelled Online Consultation. (Note: Group appointments generate the same Coviu link for all patients in the group.)

Tip

Don’t forget to send the appointment link to your patient! Without their unique link, they will not be able to attend the appointment.

Note

The link only appears for future-dated appointments. If the appointment is set for a date before the present day, the link does not appear.

Start your Coviu appointment

  1. From the calendar, open the appointment.

  2. Next to Location, click the link Online Consultation.

  3. When finished, click the Back button on your browser to return to your Halaxy calendar.

Set up a Coviu room

Coviu rooms allow you to use the same link for all your online appointments instead of generating a different link for each session. Rooms also give you access to tools such as screen sharing, image sharing and whiteboard.

Depending on your Coviu plan, you may have one or more rooms you can use.

To set up your Coviu room for telehealth appointments, follow the steps below:

  1. On Coviu, locate your Coviu room URL and copy it.

  2. On Halaxy, click Settings > Integrations.

  3. Under the Online Consultation section, next to Coviu, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

  4. Next to your name, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

  5. In the pop-up, configure the following:

    • Team Name: Enter the name of your Coviu room.

    • Team Room URL: Paste your Coviu room URL.

    • Send Room URL: Tick the checkbox to automatically use your Coviu room link for appointments.

  6. Click Save.

Your appointments with the location set to Online Appointments now use your Coviu room as the appointment link.

Disconnect your Coviu account from Halaxy

  1. Click Settings > Integrations.

  2. Under the Online Consultation section, next to Coviu, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

  3. Next to the practitioner you wish to disconnect, click the Icon-Unlink.svg unlink icon. This disconnects this practitioner from your Coviu account.

  4. If you wish to disconnect your whole practice group from Coviu, repeat these steps for all practitioners.
