Halaxy seamlessly integrates with Tyro terminals for processing EFTPOS payments and private health insurance claims. With a Tyro integration, you can use the physical terminal for transactions and your Halaxy invoices are automatically updated.
If you want to get Tyro terminal for your practice, contact Tyro via their web form or by phone on 1300 966 639.
You must complete two forms: Tyro EFTPOS Banking Application (for payments) and the Provider Registration (for claims). Your Tyro terminal is typically shipped within 10 days of processing your application.
Note
There is no charge for Tyro EFTPOS transactions on Halaxy or for pairing your terminal. For information on Tyro fees, contact Tyro.
Tip
Need a faster and automated way to get paid? With Halaxy's built-in electronic payments, you can process payments automatically or manually all within the platform. No terminals or integrations needed!
When you have your Tyro terminal, follow the steps below.
-
Click Settings > Integrations.
-
Under Payments / Rebates, next to Tyro, click Add Terminal.
-
In the Add Tyro Settings pop-up, select the Level setting to add:

-
Clinic: Multiple practice locations use the one terminal and payments are processed to different accounts depending on the practice location.
-
Individual: If you work in multiple locations and may need to switch between a group terminal and your own terminal, both of which are linked to your own accounts.
-
-
On your Tyro terminal, select Configuration > Integrated EFTPOS > Pair with POS. You should now see the following on your Tyro terminal:

If you want to add another merchant to your terminal, see the next section.
Note
If you receive the messages An error has occurred, please try again. or Error: Transaction already in progress, this means that pairing was attempted twice before a response was received from the terminal. Close all windows or log out of Halaxy and restart the process.
After you have paired with your Tyro terminal, you can add another merchant so that you can receive funds into a different bank account. (Note: You do not need to pair the terminal a second time to set up another merchant.)
-
Click Settings > Integrations.
-
Under Payments / Rebates, under Tyro, click the
plus icon for the terminal where you wish to add another merchant.
-
In the pop-up, enter the Merchant ID from your Tyro terminal. (The label Already Paired should be visible here.)

Add a Description so you can identify which merchant account is being used.
-
Click Save.
The new merchant is now available to use the same terminal. When you process a claim, you can select which setting to use.
