Manage and view clinical order results

Who can do this?

All Practitioners can view own results
Practitioners and Administrators: Clinical Access and Full Access can view all order results
Requires a Sonic Labs subscription

With Halaxy's Sonic Labs integration, pathology results are automatically imported into your practice account and linked to the correct patient and requesting practitioner. This allows you to view, manage and record test results without manual data entry.

You can:

Add order results to a new clinical note in the patient's profile.
Update clinical notes instantly with new results in just one click.
Attach results directly to the original clinical order (if it was created in Halaxy).

This feature helps you save time, maintain accurate records, and ensure you always have the most up-to-date information for your patients.

Note

Some test results may arrive quicker than others. Order results are automatically updated whenever a new test result is submitted later.

View order results

On the sidebar, click Contacts > Order Results.
In the list, click the results you want to view.
You can now view the test results and information submitted by the lab. In the Results list, click the arrows on the row to view findings for each test.

Note

Order results submitted by laboratories are automatically downloaded every 30 minutes.

Link an order result to a patient and practitioner

If an order result is received without an assigned patient or practitioner, you can quickly link them from the result.

Click Contacts > Order Results.
In the list, click the order result to open it.
Under the Order Details section, click Edit to set the Patient and Practitioner, then click Save.

You have successfully linked the order results to a patient and practitioner.

Note

You can only link or edit the assigned patient and/or practitioner for order results that have not been added to a clinical note or clinical order yet.

Add results to patient clinical notes

Open the order result.
On the top right, click Add to Patient Notes.
The order result now displays a link to the clinical note with the results.

The order results are added to a new clinical note with the test results nested separately under it.

Note

Some test results may arrive quicker than others. Order results are automatically updated whenever a new test result is submitted later. However, if the order report has been added to a clinical note, you must update the clinical note with the incoming results.

Add results to original clinical order

If the clinical order was created in Halaxy, you can add results to the corresponding test in the original order.

Open the order result.
Under the Results section, for the results you want to add, click the link icon.
In the popup, next to the pathology order, click the arrow to expand the order, then select the test/s you want to add these results to.
Click Add to Selection.
After the results are linked, you can:
- Click the square with arrow icon to open the original clinical order with the results.
- Click the unlink icon to unlink the results from the clinical order.
