Send chat messages to your practice group

In healthcare, clear and efficient communication is crucial to good service and smooth day-to-day operations. With secure instant messaging built into Halaxy, you have quick, efficient communication right at your fingertips. Chat streamlines team coordination, bridges communication gaps, and all in all, helps your practice provide better patient care.

You can also enable chat for exchanging instant messages with patients via their patient portal. See related article: Send chat messages to patients

Send and read chat messages

To open chat, click Personal > Chat.

  • You can send instant chat messages to:

    • Everyone in your practice

    • Individual users

  • At the top of your team chat list, use the search bar to find a conversation with a specific colleague.

  • Click the Icon-Sort-Ascend.svg sort ascending icon or Icon-Sort-Descend.svg sort descending icon to change the sorting of your conversations (oldest or newest).

  • When you receive new chat messages, you receive chat notifications via the Icon-Bubble.svg speech bubble icon in the topbar.

  • To hide inactive conversations in your chat list, click the Icon-Funnel.svg funnel icon.

Enable or disable chat feature

  1. Click Settings > General.

  2. Under Group Settings, next to Chat, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

  3. For Status, select Enabled.

  4. Click Save.

You have successfully enabled chat in your practice group.
