Every practice group on Halaxy has at least one account owner. This is automatically assigned to the first person who registered the practice group.
Because patient profiles and clinical notes can have unique access settings, an account owner ensures that there's always at least one person in your practice with complete access to all records, keeping control of all data.
Account owners can essentially do everything a Full Access user can do, with the addition of the following:
-
Can view all patient profiles, including patients on private mode
-
Can view all clinical notes, including restricted clinical notes
-
Can set other Full Access users as account owner
For more information on access controls, see our article: Manage access settings for users

Answer |
---|---|
Who is eligible to be an account owner? |
Only Full Access users - practitioner or administrator - can be made an account owner. |
Can there be multiple account owners? |
Yes, your practice can have more than one account owner. Having multiple account owners allows your practice to adapt as it grows and changes. |
How do I transfer account ownership to someone else? |
|
How can I remove another account owner? |
Only account owners can remove their own account ownership. You cannot remove someone else as account owner. |
Why can't I remove myself as account owner? |
There must always be one account owner in every practice group. If you are the sole account owner in your practice, you cannot remove your account ownership. |
Why do account owners need to enable multiple methods for 2FA? |
Enabling multiple 2FA methods allows you to authenticate with a backup method if you cannot access your primary method. As account owner, having multiple login options prevents you and other users from getting locked out of your account. For example: If you are overseas and unable to receive SMS, you can still receive your verification code through email. If your email provider is unavailable, you can generate a verification code with an authentication app on your mobile phone. You still use only one 2FA method when logging in, but you'll have the option to change which method to use. |
