Manage another patient portal

Halaxy Patient Portal users can request access to another patient's account, as well as create another Patient Portal account linked to their own. This allows you to set up an account for your child, dependent or family member as required. You can then grant yourself access from your child's account, allowing you to view and possibly edit their details.

if you do not already have a Halaxy Patient Portal account, ask your practitioner to invite you to set up your patient portal. Once this is done, you can sign in and create an account for your child by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Halaxy Patient Portal by using your unique email address and password.

  2. Click Profile > Accesses.

  3. In the section labelled "People Whose Patient Portal You Can Access", click Add User.

In the section titled "People Whose Patient Portal You Can Access", Add User is highlighted
  4. The "Create a Patient Portal for someone" pop-up appears. Add the other patient's details and select the access level you require (View or Edit).

If you are requesting access to an existing patient's Halaxy Patient Portal: select Yes under "Give this person their own login" and enter their email address. The other person will receive a request via email to approve or deny your request in their Halaxy.

If you are creating a new account for the other patient: under "Give this person their own login", select whether or not you wish to allow the person to log in on their own. If you want them to be able to log in on their own, select Yes and enter a separate email address as their username. Otherwise select No; this will cause the account to be linked to yours and be accessible only to you.

A pop-up titled "Create an Account for Someone Else".
  5. Click Submit.

RESULT: If you are requesting access to an existing patient's account, the other patient will be notified by email and can approve or deny your request in their Halaxy.

If you have created a new account for the other patient (e.g. for a child), you now need to log in to the new patient's account and grant access to your own account. Log out of your own account and log back in using the other patient's unique email address and password, then follow the steps for granting access to another patient in their account.

Once you have granted yourself access, you can view all the accounts that you have access to by using the drop-down menu in the top-right of the page, as well as on the Access page. Click the name of the relevant person to view the full content of their Patient Portal:

The patient portal screen. A selector to choose users you have access to is highlighted.
