Manage another patient portal

Halaxy Patient Portal users can request access to another patient's account, as well as create another Patient Portal account linked to their own. This allows you to set up an account for your child, dependent or family member as required. You can then grant yourself access from your child's account, allowing you to view and possibly edit their details.

If you do not already have a Halaxy Patient Portal account, ask your practitioner to invite you to set up your patient portal. Once this is done, you can sign in and create an account for your child by following the steps below:

Tip

Managing portals for multiple children? If you already have portal access to Child 1, add Child 2 (with a separate email address) using Child 1's portal. When Child 2's portal accepts the request, you can manage both portals under one login.

Manage access for another patient portal

  1. Log in to the Halaxy Patient Portal.

  2. Click Account > Access.

  3. Under the Patients You Access section, click Add Patient.

  4. In the pop-up, configure the following:

    • Name: Enter the patient's name.

    • Relationship: Select the patient's relationship to you. (Example: If the patient is your child, select Child or Daughter or Son)

    • Access Level: Select the access level you require for this patient portal.

      • Clinical: Access all appointments, invoices and clinical records.

      • Administrative: Access all appointments and invoices only. No access to clinical records.

    • Role: Select the actions you can take while managing this patient's portal.

    • Give this person their own login: Select if you want this patient to have their own login access. (If you are inviting a patient with an existing Halaxy Patient Portal, select Yes then enter their current login email address to send them a request email for access to their portal.)

  5. Click Save.

When you click Save:

  • If you are requesting access to an existing patient's account, the other patient will be notified by email and can approve or deny your request in their Halaxy.

  • If you have created a new account for the other patient, you now need to log in to the new patient's account and grant access to your own account. Log out of your own account and log back in using the other patient's unique email address and password, then follow the steps for granting access to another patient in their account.

After you have granted yourself access, you can view all the accounts that you have access to by using the drop-down menu in the top-right of the page, as well as on the Access page. Click the name of the relevant person to view the full content of their Patient Portal:

The patient portal screen. A selector to choose users you have access to is highlighted.
