What does code 338 (Provider not registered to claim benefit at date of service) mean?

Explanation

The practitioner's Provider Number was not registered with DVA for the item number at the date of service.

Action

You need to reconfirm your Provider Number and/or check with DVA. Once you have done that, update your details.

To update the Provider Number:

  1. In the Identification section on the invoice, click the Edit icon.
  2. Enter the correct Provider Number and click Save.
  3. Reprocess the claim.
