I received Medicare code 9632. What should I do?


Code 9632 means that you are claiming for the same service on the same day with the same practitioner.

If there was more than one service performed for the patient on the same day with the same item number and the same practitioner, you'll need to include additional information with the claim when you push it through to Medicare to investigate:

  1. From the invoice, click either Process Rebate or Process Bulk Bill, then select Additional Information.
  2. Enter details explaining why a similar service was provided.
  3. Click Process.

The claim may not be successful, but it will be sent to Medicare for investigation.
